At Congruency Therapy & Wellness, we offer myofascial release to help active adults and anyone in pain restore healthy movement and return to the activities they love. Our Physical Therapists use gentle, targeted techniques to reduce tension, improve mobility, and address the underlying causes of your discomfort.

Myofascial release is a hands-on treatment that reduces tightness or restrictions in the fascia — the connective tissue surrounding your muscles, joints, and organs. When fascia becomes restricted due to stress, injury, or overuse, it can create:

  • Pain

  • Limited mobility

  • Postural imbalances

Myofascial release helps restore normal tissue mobility and improve overall movement quality so you feel and move your best.

What Is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release is especially effective for:

  • People with chronic stiffness or tension

  • Post-injury or post-surgical including post mastectomy patients

  • Individuals with mobility limitations

  • Runners, movers, cyclists, and golfers

  • Anyone feeling “tight,” restricted, or stuck in their movement patterns

Who is this for?

What to Expect With Us

At Congruency, myofascial release isn’t a stand-alone service — it’s part of a comprehensive, one-on-one treatment plan with a physical therapist.

1. Detailed assessment
We identify the exact tissues, movement patterns, or positions creating your symptoms.

2. Targeted, gentle pressure
Your PT applies slow, sustained pressure to restricted areas to release tension and restore mobility.

3. Mobility + stability work
We pair hands-on treatment with specific to you corrective exercises to make longterm changes.

4. Education & movement strategy
We teach you what’s driving your tightness and strategies on how to manage it on your own.

5. Customized progression and support
Your plan is tailored to your life and your goals — not a generic protocol.

General FAQs

  • All of our sessions are 1on1 for 1 hour which give our therapists time to listen, thoroughly assess, and treat your problem.

  • Comfortable clothing that allows movement and breathing assessment. Preferably limit baggy clothing so assist in our ability to assess your posture/movement.

  • North Carolina is a full direct access state with no restrictions. This means you do not need a referral for physical therapy unless your insurance specifically requires one for reimbursement purposes.

  • We are an out of network provider for physical therapy services. We have adopted this model specifically because it gives us more time to assess and treat your specific problem without seeing multiple clients at one time.

  • We serve Charlotte, Cornelius, and the Lake Norman area.
