Julianna Hane PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

Enthusiastic. Encouraging. Integrative.

Julianna completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Baylor University. A dancer and aerialist, she holds a BA in Dance from Winthrop University and an MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah.

Julianna performed in her first aerial piece at Winthrop in 2002. She majored in aerial hoop (lyra) at the New England Center for Circus Arts Professional Training Program, and founded an aerial studio and performing company. Julianna has taught dance, aerial arts, and Pilates in private studios and in higher education; trained aerial instructors across the country; and is the author of the Aerial Teacher’s Handbook.

As a performing artist with joint hypermobility and multiple injuries, Julianna has developed a deep curiosity about human movement. Her first physical therapist introduced her to the Institute of Physical Art approach and opened her eyes to new ways of seeing movement. While studying Laban Movement Analysis, Julianna became inspired by the work of Irmgard Bartenieff, a dancer and physical therapist whose holistic approach was far ahead of her time. Julianna gained a classical foundation for Pilates certification (NCPT) at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado and studied contemporary approaches at Fusion Pilates Asheville. Through these programs Julianna began to feel better in her own body, see movement in new ways, and teach with compassionate enthusiasm.

Julianna is currently studying Functional Manual Therapy through the Institute of Physical Art. Her long-term goal is to integrate manual therapy with Pilates using the reformer, cadillac, and other Pilates equipment. Julianna is excited to support movement enthusiasts in living life to the fullest.

Julianna enjoys visiting the family farm, reading, and spending time with friends and her rescue dog.
